Weeks 1–2
Pain
Calm the inflammation down.
Hands-on techniques and targeted modalities calm the irritated joint and take the edge off inflammation, starting your very first visit.
What We Treat
The stiffness when you stand up from the couch. The twinge that decides whether today’s a good day. It’s fixable, and it starts with a cause-first evaluation, not a guess.

Why It Happens
Your joints don’t ache for no reason, and it’s almost never just one thing. It’s usually some mix of a few culprits: cartilage that’s worn thinner than it used to be, muscles around the joint that got weak and quietly stopped sharing the load, inflammation flaring up from overuse or an old injury that never fully healed, and daily habits that keep reloading the same joint before it recovers.
You’re not someone who wants to just live with it, and you shouldn’t have to. None of those culprits show up on a quick glance. It takes a real, cause-first evaluation to sort out which joint, which tissue, and which habit is actually driving your pain. That’s why a general stretching sheet so often falls short: it treats the symptom, not the source. Find the real cause, and the fix gets obvious.
The Honest Truth
Nobody regrets starting too early. Every week, someone in our clinic says they regret waiting.
How We Fix It
Every plan has an endpoint. Here’s what the four phases look like for joint pain.
Weeks 1–2
Pain
Hands-on techniques and targeted modalities calm the irritated joint and take the edge off inflammation, starting your very first visit.
Weeks 2–6
Prime
Targeted mobility work restores motion in the joints that have quietly stiffened up around the pain.
Weeks 6–10
Perform
Progressive strengthening builds the support around the joint that was missing in the first place.
Weeks 10+
Prevent
Real-world movement gets tested under load before you’re cleared to go all-in: that’s the endpoint, not just another appointment.
Dr. Christina and staff were amazing from day one. After a pickleball fall that resulted in multiple fractures, Dr. Christina got me functional once again and pain-free. Highly recommend them to fix your range of motion, function, and pain.

Questions, Answered
If it’s been more than a couple of weeks, if it keeps you from a stair, a jar lid, or a walk you used to take for granted, or if it’s starting to show up in more than one joint, it’s worth a real look. Joint pain that gets ignored tends to spread to the joints compensating for it. A cause-first evaluation tells you exactly what’s driving it, whether that’s something you can work through in a few visits or something that needs a longer plan.
Yes, in most cases the right movement helps more than rest does. Hurt doesn’t always mean harm, and total rest tends to leave a joint stiffer and weaker, which sets up the next flare-up. The key is dosing the right movement for your specific joint, which is exactly what a physical therapist sorts out at your evaluation, then progresses safely as you improve.
Most patients feel meaningful change within 4-6 visits. A full plan for joint pain runs through all four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform, and Prevent, typically over 8-10 weeks, depending on how long you’ve been dealing with it and how many joints are involved. Either way, you get a plan with an endpoint: you’ll always know which phase you’re in and what’s left, not an open-ended string of appointments.
