Weeks 1–2
Pain
Calm the pain down.
Hands-on techniques calm the swollen, irritated joint and take the edge off inflammation, starting your very first visit.
What We Treat
The stiffness when you stand up from the couch. The twinge that decides whether today’s a good day. It’s fixable, and it starts with a cause-first evaluation, not a guess.

Why It Happens
Your knee doesn’t act up for no reason. It’s usually one of a handful of culprits: kneecap tracking issues that irritate the joint every time you bend, an irritated meniscus, a stretched or strained ligament, early cartilage wear such as osteoarthritis, or weak quads and hips that quietly overload the joint they’re supposed to support.
If you think of yourself as someone who doesn’t slow down, weekend tournaments, long walks, keeping up with grandkids, that identity is worth protecting. A knee that lets you keep it doesn’t happen by accident. It takes a real, cause-first evaluation to tell a meniscus problem from a ligament strain from a joint that’s simply underprotected. Find the real cause, and the fix gets obvious.
The Honest Truth
Nobody regrets starting too early. Every week, someone in our clinic says they regret waiting.
How We Fix It
Every plan has an endpoint. Here’s what the four phases look like for a knee.
Weeks 1–2
Pain
Hands-on techniques calm the swollen, irritated joint and take the edge off inflammation, starting your very first visit.
Weeks 2–6
Prime
Targeted mobility work restores full bend and straighten in a knee that’s been quietly guarding itself.
Weeks 6–10
Perform
Progressive quad and hip strengthening builds the support your knee was missing in the first place.
Weeks 10+
Prevent
Stairs, kneeling, and sport-specific mechanics get tested under real load before you’re cleared to go all-in: that’s the endpoint, not just another appointment.
I had a great experience here! Everybody was really friendly and courteous: the front desk, my doctor, the assistants, and the owner. You listened to me about my injury, and I recommend this office to everybody for their physical therapy needs.

Questions, Answered
Usually not, and it’s rarely the first step. Most knee pain improves without imaging, and scans routinely show meniscus and cartilage changes in knees that don’t hurt at all, so a picture alone doesn’t always point to the real cause. We start with a hands-on evaluation to find what’s actually driving your symptoms, and if imaging ever becomes genuinely necessary, we’ll help you get it. You don’t have to wait on a scan to start feeling better.
Yes, in most cases movement helps more than rest does. Hurt doesn’t always mean harm, total rest tends to make a knee stiffer and weaker, which sets up the next flare-up. The key is dosing the right movement for your specific knee, which is exactly what a physical therapist sorts out at your evaluation, then progresses safely as you improve.
Most patients feel meaningful change within 4–6 visits. A full plan for knee pain runs through all four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform, and Prevent, typically over 8–10 weeks, depending on how long you’ve been dealing with it. Either way, you get a plan with an endpoint: you’ll always know which phase you’re in and what’s left, not an open-ended string of appointments.
