Adela K. Tapia

PTA
Physical Therapy Assistant

Location: Lodi clinic

I grew up in Escalon, California, in a tight-knit family where both of my parents worked hard to provide for me and my four sisters. This taught me the value of perseverance, resilience, and the importance of helping others. After graduating high school in 2016, I decided to pursue a career in healthcare. I started as a physical therapy aide, where I quickly discovered my passion for rehabilitation and the difference it can make in people’s lives. I attended the Institute of Technology in Modesto, where I was part of the first cohort in the PTA program, and I’m excited to now be starting my career as a physical therapist assistant. As someone who’s always been passionate about fitness and exercise, I know firsthand how rehab can have a positive impact on people’s lives. Growing up with strong cultural values and a work ethic rooted in my family, I’m committed to providing compassionate care and helping my patients regain strength, mobility, and confidence.

Past Experience:
I bring hands on experience from both outpatient and inpatient settings, where I’ve worked with a variety of patient cases. During my clinical internships, I had the opportunity to assist with orthopedic, neuromuscular, pediatric, and postsurgical patients, helping to implement treatment plans and provide care.
In my role as a physical therapy aide, I supported patients with different needs, from helping them follow their treatment plans to assisting with therapy sessions. My time in both settings has given me a well rounded understanding of how to approach patient care and adjust to each individual’s recovery process.

Core Values:
Respect, humility, compassion, and ethical professionalism are the core values that drive me in life.

Favorite Quote
“Strength does not come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t.”

 Care Coordination Challenges:
Many patients experience frustration when progress feels slow, especially when results aren’t immediately visible. This can be discouraging, and I want to help change that by providing consistent support and encouragement throughout their recovery journey. I also recognize that pain and discomfort can make therapy challenging, and I’m committed to helping alleviate these symptoms while improving mobility so patients can regain their quality of life. My approach is focused on personalized care, creating treatment plans that address each individual’s unique needs. My goal is to empower patients, helping them understand their diagnoses and giving them the tools to succeed in their recovery.

Company Role:
As a physical therapist assistant, my role is to work alongside the physical therapist to implement effective treatment plans and support patients in their recovery journey. I have experience working with a wide variety of patients, which allows me to adapt to different needs and provide the best care possible. While I am always eager to learn and refine my skills, my focus is on delivering quality, hands-on care, helping patients progress towards their goals, and contributing to the success of the team and company. My dedication to improving patient outcomes and collaborating with the physical therapy team drives my commitment to providing exceptional care.

    Conditions I Enjoy Treating:
I enjoy working with a variety of conditions, from orthopedic and post surgical cases to neuromuscular and pediatric conditions.
