Dr. Ariane S.

Physical Therapist

I was born and raised in San Jose, CA. I first became interested in physical therapy as a high school student and athlete. I was fascinated by the human body through my studies of anatomy and physiology and interested in improving my own movement and performance as a swimmer and water polo player. As a university student, I further solidified my desire to work in the healthcare field. I had the opportunity to travel to Ecuador where I spent 6 months serving in various orphanages, one of which cared for children with special needs who required daily physical therapy and the use of assistive devices. I loved their brightness and enthusiasm, and knew I wanted to make a career out of helping others maximize their function and quality of life. After receiving my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, I went on to pursue my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Texas Woman’s University in Houston.

Throughout my studies and career I have worked with a variety of patients in diverse settings including, orthopedic, neurological, inpatient, outpatient, home health, and schools, with both children and adults. I am passionate about caring for others and dedicated to creating personalized treatment plans to empower each patient to achieve their own individualized goals and objectives.

While I have treated a variety of patient populations in several different types of settings, my specialty and passion lie in pediatrics. I absolutely love working with kids and turning their treatment sessions into playtime with a purpose.

Patients come to therapy for numerous reasons. They often deal with chronic pain and limited mobility, or coordination, balance, and gross motor deficits due to injury, neuromuscular disorders, or congenital conditions. It is my job and pleasure to help patients resolve these issues by improving their motor skills, strength, flexibility, and overall function through diverse treatment techniques and the latest research.

Whether working with adults or children, acute injuries or global developmental delay, I find great joy and purpose in getting to know each individual and tailoring treatment to their specific needs.

Excel Physical Therapy has a very welcoming environment and compassionate staff. Excellence in patient care is top priority. What I enjoy most about working as a physical therapist here is interacting with determined patients and seeing their joy as function and quality of life improve through their hard work.
